GOVERNANCE & INSTITUTIONAL STRATEGY

Where complexity has outpaced structure

I organise expertise where institutional authority is tested by scale and pressure. My work is to clarify decision paths, surface real constraints, and align actors operating under incompatible incentives.

OPERATING PRINCIPLES

Three convictions that guide my work

01

Judgment over compliance

In environments where mandates are complex and authority fragmented, outcomes depend less on following procedure than on reading what remains unsaid.

02

Cross-sectoral fluency

The distinction between humanitarian aid and corporate governance is artificial. What matters is structural coherence across institutional boundaries.

03

Continuity across institutions

A long-term perspective where institutions are the changing scenery. Decisions are optimised not for visibility, but for endurance.

Framework

HOW I OPERATE
Complex systems tend to fail once structure lags behind reality. That is where my work begins. My role is not to substitute expertise, but to organise it. To clarify decision paths, surface real constraints, and align actors operating under incompatible incentives. This work has taken place across public institutions, international programmes, and independent ventures.
ON FAILURE
I led a venture to build a hand-crafted electric vehicle company grounded in 1960s design principles and contemporary material science. The project assembled a distributed team across several countries and generated significant public attention. It did not reach production. Capital requirements were decisive. Failure at scale teaches what success does not: capital physics, timing asymmetry, and the limits of narrative when structural conditions are not met.
WHERE THIS APPLIES
My experience is most relevant where mandates are complex, authority is fragmented, and outcomes depend less on compliance than on judgment. This includes senior roles in public policy, international cooperation, governance, and organisations operating at the boundary between strategy and execution.
